Angkor Wat & Bayon Temple
Just a few photos , more later. Beautiful temples but many statues stolen during the war.
Still it was breathtakingly beautiful!
We aren't at all disappointed in Siem Reap, it is not so crowded and the locals are so easy to get along with. We had planned to travel further but have settled in here and will just do day tours.
You all must come here soon !!!

The Golden Banana Resort Siem Reap Cambodia
This hotel is just fabulous!!! It is beautifully decorated, lovely big room which overlooks a gorgeous salt water swimming pool in the sheltered courtyard. It has thoughtfully designed rooms with a spacious private bath tub on the room's verandah.
We were planning to go to Phnom Penh but maybe we will just stay here in Siem Reap, which is such a pleasant small town, not too noisy or dusty. It has a huge number of restaurants and bars so we can try a different place each day for lunch and dinner.
We start the temple tours tomorrow morning.
Photos coming soon, need a new internet cafe to upload photos.

From Big India To Little India
We are staying in a neighbourhood called Little India, which as you might have guessed is home to lots of expat Indians. Lots of Indian shops and restaurants, also backpacker and three star hotels are around this area but it's not too crowded. In fact, it is really quite a pleasant place to be. The old Singapore hasn't been completely demolished here and it is quite colourful and interesting.
Many people say Singapore is like a giant Westfield shopping mall and we think this is true.
A new novelty on the scene here is an enormous ferris wheel...about 30 storeys high. Great fun spinning around looking at ugly high rise apartments and office towers!!!
Our hotel is quite good for the price, small, but big enough to swing a cat with a long tail.
Quite a lot of the old shops here haven't been destroyed, some are painted great colours.
BUT... if we didn't have to be here for our flight changes we wouldn't have come.
We don't like a government that murders people legally

Street Scene Mamalapurram (Last day In India)
Uploaded directly from my digital camera sd card reader at 7.30 am on March 3rd.
We leave this interesting town tonight at 7pm for flight to Singapore then to Cambodia.
We were unable to get connecting flight so will have to stay in Singapore again...boring !!
We will probably sleep most of the time as we arrive early morning leaving Chennai at 11pm.
Our flight to Cambodia leaves at 7am next day.
We have had a lazy time in India this time, no strenuous taxi tours in those old Ambassador cars. We really enjoyed Mumbai, so interesting and huge!!
The development since our last trip here has been amazing, so many cars on the roads, so many buildings. Good I suppose for the 100 million plus Indians, not so good for the other 800 million.
Glen has been reading White Tiger and says it is India as far as he can tell.
