We are staying in a neighbourhood called Little India, which as you might have guessed is home to lots of expat Indians. Lots of Indian shops and restaurants, also backpacker and three star hotels are around this area but it's not too crowded. In fact, it is really quite a pleasant place to be. The old Singapore hasn't been completely demolished here and it is quite colourful and interesting.
Many people say Singapore is like a giant Westfield shopping mall and we think this is true.
A new novelty on the scene here is an enormous ferris wheel...about 30 storeys high. Great fun spinning around looking at ugly high rise apartments and office towers!!!
Our hotel is quite good for the price, small, but big enough to swing a cat with a long tail.
Quite a lot of the old shops here haven't been destroyed, some are painted great colours.
BUT... if we didn't have to be here for our flight changes we wouldn't have come.
We don't like a government that murders people legally
